You can never predict when a hard drive or other components will fail. It can happen when you are not doing anything important or in the most inconvenient moment. This is why it is such a good idea to back up important data. Even if it takes longer, the wait is worth it. If you do not have time for this, you can use @MAX SyncUp to back up, synchronize or restore large amounts of data. You can also use its scheduling feature to perform the same tasks automatically every few days, during the operating system's startup and on other occasions.

The software is not free, but a trial version is available. You can use it without any restrictions, and if you decide to buy it, you only need to activate the full version, without downloading and installing the program all over again. The setup process is fast and you can run the software on numerous Windows versions.

@MAX SyncUp can back up files, synchronize or restore them. These are the main options you will find on the software's interface, when you run it for the first time. They appear as hyperlinks, accompanied by short descriptions, for each feature. A second hyperlink (for each function) will take you to the developer's web page, where you will find step by step instructions. With these options, you may create profiles, which can be executed immediately, at a later date or scheduled to run automatically.

When creating a profile, you will have to specify a source and a destination folder, include or exclude certain files, encrypt the backup, set up a schedule, using a great number of parameters and select a series of advanced options, which is optional. The backed up files can be stored as they are, in a standard ZIP archive or in a SyncUp archive. Besides folders on your hard drive, you can select other output locations as well, such as a FTP server or a Google Drive. You will not have to make all these settings on the same window. Once you start creating a profile, you will be guided by a wizard. You will find the settings during the wizard's stages and you will go through them in a logical order.

The created profiles are displayed on the main area of the interface, replacing the initial options. Their entries contain basic information, like date of creation, source and target paths and more. The entries also contain hyperlinks for executing a profile, viewing its logs and after it is executed, a Restore hyperlink will appear as well. You may create new profiles, edit or delete existing ones with the buttons on the toolbar or the ones in the File menu.

Pros

Creating a profile, of any type, can be done with the aid of a wizard. It is very easy to understand the software's options. They are neatly organized, in a logical manner, so it will not take long to adjust to the interface. Although you have to pay for @MAX SyncUp, the trial version has no limitations or nag screens, making it possible to test the software's full potential.

Cons

The software's Help files can be found only on the Internet. With its complex and easy to use features, @MAX SyncUp will help you prevent the loss of important data without too much effort.
